TEN (10) REASONS TO UPGRADE TO A LITHIUM BATTERY FOR YOUR GOLF CART:
LIGHTER WEIGHT
Lithium batteries are half the weight of traditional lead-acid batteries, which shaves off two-thirds of the battery weight that a golf cart or RV would normally operate with. This power-to-weight ratio advantage makes your vehicle easier to maneuver and helps you reach a comfortable speed faster. It also allows your vehicle to carry additional weight, such as up to two additional averaged-sized adults and their equipment, before maxing out in capacity.

Lithium-iron batteries provide 3,000 to 5,000 life cycles, compared with lead-acid batteries that only deliver 500 to 1,000 cycles. This translates into significant cost savings over time for both golf carts and RVs. Even after 2,000 cycles, lithium batteries are still able to maintain 80% of their rated capacity. To protect your investment, Sonny Power provides a 5-year manufacturer’s defect warranty on our batteries.

ZERO MAINTENANCE
One of the major benefits of lithium-iron batteries is that they require no maintenance, whereas lead-acid batteries need to be maintained and checked on a regular basis. Lithium batteries are virtually maintenance-free. All that needs to be done is to inspect and clean the connections as required. With lithium batteries, there’s no need for maintenance-related downtime or costly upkeep, whether for your golf cart or RV.

Lithium-iron batteries provide higher voltage levels compared to lead-acid batteries. Higher voltage helps the motor produce higher torque values and optimize the efficiency of the vehicle’s electronics. This translates into a huge enhancement in power, acceleration, and top speed. In both golf carts and RVs, the increased power allows for easier hill climbs and improved performance on flat terrain without draining your battery as quickly.
HIGHER VOLTAGE AND POWER CAPACITY

ECO-FRIENDLY
Lithium batteries take much less time to recharge, using less energy, and they are easier to recycle as they do not contain hazardous materials. This makes lithium batteries a more environmentally friendly option for both golf carts and RVs, putting less strain on the environment.

NO ACID SPILLS
Conventional lead-acid batteries are acid-based, and their plates are immersed in sulfuric acid and electrolytes, which produce energy. However, if the fluid becomes saturated or spills, it can be dangerous. This is a common issue with heavily used golf carts and RVs. With lithium-iron batteries, there is no risk of hazardous acid spills, as they do not use sulfuric acid. This ensures your vehicle is safer to use and maintain.
INTERNAL BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (BMS)
Each lithium battery comes with a built-in Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS ensures that your battery is never over-charged or over-depleted. It continually monitors the battery to maintain its parameters within the optimal working ranges, providing enhanced reliability and longevity for your golf cart or RV.
COST EFFECTIVE
Lithium batteries can go through more charge cycles than conventional lead-acid batteries, meaning they last longer. The longer your battery lasts, the fewer replacements you need to buy. Additionally, the lighter weight, zero maintenance, and lack of acid spills reduce your vehicle’s overall maintenance costs, making lithium batteries a cost-effective option for both golf carts and RVs.
PERFORMANCE IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES
By upgrading to a lithium-iron battery, you’ll be able to operate your vehicle all year-round, even in freezing temperatures. You can discharge or use your battery no matter how cold it gets, without worrying about damage. However, you may notice that your lithium battery will discharge more quickly in extremely cold conditions. While temperatures below freezing temporarily reduce the capacity, your vehicle will still be able to operate effectively until you need to recharge.
ULTRA SAFE
Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) is one of the safest battery chemistries available. Additionally, the Battery Management System (BMS) in each lithium battery detects any problems with the performance of the battery and shuts down any cells that aren’t functioning properly. One significant risk in all types of batteries is thermal runaway, which can cause damage and potentially lead to fire. Lead-acid batteries offer no protection against thermal runaway, whereas the BMS in lithium batteries regulates the temperature, monitors for internal shorts, and shuts down the battery if thermal runaway is detected, making lithium batteries much safer than their lead-acid counterparts.
